European conventions, seminaries, conferences, training sessions, steering committees, European Works Councils, coaching days, congresses, contract negotiations, award ceremonies... Those are some examples of events where people from various horizons gather to create value, interact, exchange and learn. Are you organizing such an event? Then you most certainly want flawless communication for maximum impact.
You want interpreters.
Depending on the type of venue your event will be held at, you can choose from a variety of interpreting services.
Simultaneous interpreting
The modus that guarantees the fastest rendition of the original speech, with the best working conditions. The interpreter translates simultaneously the speaker's output (with a few seconds delay to process the information).
It requires the use of interpreting equipment such as meeting booths, an audiovisual system as well as a technician to make it all work.
The intensity of the task demands that at least 2 interpreters work in each booth. The number of booths you need depends on the scale of your event and the number of working languages you plan on using (i.e. which languages do the speakers and the audience speak?)
Consecutive Interpreting
Typically for negotiations, high-level diplomatic settings, on-the-ground assignments, in locations where the use of equipment is impossible...
Depending on the level of technicity and the length of the assignment, a full day of consecutive interpreting can be performed by one interpreter alone.
The interpreter, sitting or standing close to the speaker, uses a note-taking system (not steno!) to support his memory. The speaker talks (for up to 7-10 minutes), the interpreter listens actively, memorizes, jots down notes to make sure all the nuances and the structure of the speech will be conveyed and once the speaker has stopped speaking, the interpreter gives a rendition of what has just been said. Not a summary. Not a watered down version.

Chuchotage / Whispered
In some cases, when only one or two customers (at the most!) require interpreting, it is possible to dispense with the equipment and have the interpreter 'whisper' the translation near the delegate's ear. This is only done in very specific case and after making sure that the interpreter will be able to hear what is being said at all time.
