I am a conference interpreter based in Vienna, Austria.
I interpret from German, English and Dutch into French and from French into English.
I studied Translation and Conference Interpreting at ISTI, in Brussels and worked on the Belgian private market for several years before passing the EU accreditation to work as as an Agent Conference Interpreter (ACI) for the European Institutions. In between there somewhen, I also lived and worked as a conference interpreter for a semester in Dakar, Senegal.
From 2014 onwards, I lived and traveled in: Canada, France, Switzerland, Austria (Tirol), USA, Germany, and Belgium again before moving back to Austria in 2019. I then proceeded to fall in love with Vienna and here I am.

Military affairs

Having worked several years for a European land armies forum, I've interpreted at chiefs of staff meetings, learned all about officers ranks and national weapons, went exploring with the Jaeger Brigade in the Arctic, jumped down a salt mine, and translated a military chant during a Colonel's retirement ceremony. (La Madelon, for those curious enough to want to know.) I am currently very interested in joining the OSCE team of interpreters.

European affairs

I studied European Institutions and European affairs extensively in order to pass the EU interpreting exam and then work for the European Commission, the Council of the EU, the European Parliament and the European Court of Justice. If my wanderlust hadn't carried me away from Belgium, I would probably still be freelancing for the institutions.

All things science

I am a nerd. In high school, I was in the science and advanced mathematics classes. I also studied one year of bio-engineering at university before deciding that the career choices this path offered were too boring for me and so I switched to translation and conference interpreting. Wanderlust was calling out to me already.
During my studies, I specialized in medical translation and to this day, I very much enjoy studying and preparing for medical events as an interpreter. Nowadays, I dabble in computer programming, am very curious about computer assisted interpreting and I firmly believe that one lifetime is not enough to study all the interesting subjects that are out there.
